One of our new, favorite, easy recipes...

French Bread
2 T yeast
3 T Sugar
1/2 cup warm water
Combine & set aside.

2 cups hot water
1 T salt
5 T oil
7-71/2 cups flour

Combine water, salt, oil and 1/2 cup of flour. Add yeast mixture. Mix well. Add rest of flour until dough is not sticky. Let rest 5-10 minutes. Knead. Repeat process 5 times. On a greased cookie sheet, roll dough into 2 long loaves. Let rise 20- 30 minutes. Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes.

It turns out every time and the kids love to slice and toast the leftovers. You can also use the dough for pizza dough or bread bowls for soup or chowder.
